What Are My Chances Of Getting Into These CSUs?

I have applied to San Francisco State University, CSU-Fresno, CSU-Sacramento, and plan on applying to San Jose State; SFSU being my first choice. I am kind of pessimistic and nervous whether I will be accepted at all, if I get accepted into at least one I will definitely go there.

What do you think my chances are? I have a fairly good 3.96 cumulative GPA, but a low SAT score of 1410 (480 Reading, 500 Math and 430 Writing). I just took the SAT again because I know I could do better, and plan on taking the ACT this month.

Thanks for your time!

What CSU is closest to home?

SFSU: Low match
Fresno State: Low match
Sac State: Low match
San Jose State: Match

San Jose would be the closest, then SFSU, and the other two are about the same. So most likely I won’t get into the first three then?

Do you understand about impacted campuses and impacted majors? In those situations, it helped if you are in the schools referral area.

I understand that schools and majors of impaction are exceedingly applied to making it harder to get it, and SFSU and Sac State’s major I applied to are not impacted, I am not sure about the actual campus, however. And are you saying it is easier to be admitted if close to the campus?

CSUs are easier to get in if you live close to campus, so I’ll revise the ratings accordingly. Plus a “low match” actually is a school where you’re likely to get in.

SJSU: Low match
Sac State: Low match
Fresno State: Low match

Thanks for the insight!

I believe it’s called a “referral area”, and I have heard of cases when the referrall area is not always closer. I believe students meeting the eligibility index, and within the referral area of non impacted campuses for non impacted majors are guaranteed admission. I believe SLO is an exception. I will try to find the link for referral areas, but of course it shouldn’t keep you from applying.

Here it is; it’s called a “local admission area”.

Impacted majors /campus matrix

It turns out I am not in the local admission area, unfortunately. I did, however, apply to a non impacted major. Hopefully my eligibility index and non impacted major will be good enough to be accepted, thanks for the help! Did not know about the local admission area.
