What are my chances of getting into UCLA, UC Berkeley, and/or the U of M (Ann Arbor)

Hello, everyone. I am currently a junior in high school. I was wondering if you guys could give your honest opinion/belief, along with recommendations. Feel free to express yourselves truthfully; my feelings won’t be hurt. Also, percentage chances would be greatly appreciated if possible.

Race: Bangladeshi (Paps from Bangladesh, Mom is from India; my brothers put Bangladeshi when they applied)(Also, I am second gen, but I am extremely westernized. Sad to say, but I do not speak a language other than English)
Gender: Male
Resident of California

Weighted GPA: 4.5
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
SAT Score: 2100 (taken only once; do not plan on taking again as they are changing, and I will not have the opportunity to take the January one). Writing score 730; CR 680; Math 690
Subject Tests: I have not taken any subject tests, yet. I plan on taking US History, Chemistry, and Math II. Possibly Literature as well, but idk.
ACT: Plan on taking, but have not been able to yet. Have not done a practice test either.

AP Classes I have(score)/am taking: Euro(5), Stats(4), Calc BC, English/Language, Chem, US History
AP Classes I plan on senior year: EnvironScience, Literature, Government. Maybe Spanish
Honors plan on taking and have taken: Chem, Math Analysis, Spanish, Econ-may do econ at local college or online

Extracurricular/Co-curricular-----
Forensics: 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Valley competitor 3 years, probably 4. Hopefully, state competitor at least one year-this may happen. Treasurer for 10th, 11th, and possibly 12th grade. This is an after school class.

Mock Trial: 10th, 11th, and most definitely 12th. Our team placed 1st in our county/region and placed 7th at the state competition. Will hopefully make state this year and the next.

HOSA: state competitor the past two years, most likely the next two. I have placed in the top 3 (2nd and 3rd) in one event (group w 2 other people) both years. I have also placed in the top 10 for one knowledge test and have been recognized for a different one). National competitor for the past two years as well. I was vice president for the sophomore HOSA kids last year.

History Day: 10th grade; not sure if I can continue. Regional Winner, state competitor

Science Fair: 10th grade; not sure if I can continue. Honorable mention at county. I probably won’t put this and history day on my application.

Member of the Model United Nations Club: 11th and 12th grade

National Honor Society Member: 10th, 11th, and 12th grade

Spanish Honor Society Member: 11th and 12th grade

CSF (I really dont know anything about this other than the fact that I applied and got the okay. It isn’t unique or anything like that, for most kids in my school and others get it)

Orchestra: 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Have to go to school every weekday at 6:30 a.m. for this class. Hella tiring.

Not sure if I will get into this program, but there is a prestigious program in my city where roughly 32 students from all of the high schools in the district are selected(17 highschools). There is an applicant pool of around 125, and you have to go through various stages of interviews to be chosen. I was chosen to apply, along with maybe 15 other students in my grade from my school. This is a big MAYBE. Our counselors told us that simply being chosen to apply is a big deal that can help with college apps.

I am in the Medical Academy program in my school. One takes a class each year as an actual class during the school day. It is all medical related.

I job shadowed at a Dermatology Clinic for 8 weeks this year.

Sadly, I have not been too involved in the community, but I plan on doing volunteer work over the summer. I dont know how much it will be, but I would like to give back to my community once I have the opportunity. So far, I have around 20 or so hours of community service.

Sports: Used to play when I was in elementary and middle school, but I never really got into it in high school. I was thinking about trying out for tennis, but I do not know if I will make the team.

Summer programs: 3 week debate camp at Stanford–probably wont put that on the app. I am trying to get an internships this summer at a law firm, as it is my ultimate goal to become a lawyer, most likely a litigation, malpractice, or corporate one.

Intended Major: Economics with a minor is psychology or vice versa. Also thinking about English as a minor.

I apologize for the wall of text, but much of it was meant for me to map out what I have done so far. I would like to thank everyone in advance for replying.

U-M is difficult to get into as an out-of-state applicant, so you’d need tippy-top stats. Especially as an Asian male from California, you’ll face very stiff competition (MI has banned affirmative action, but de facto AA still exists). I won’t lie, it’s not an easy college to gain acceptance to for someone with your profile.

That GPA is certainly fine, and your courseload is rigorous enough that you haven’t earned the 4.0 by taking gut classes. The SAT, less so. I’d encourage you to take the new SAT once or twice before applying, if you think you might do well. A 2100 won’t doom you anywhere, but scoring a 1450 or 1500/1600 would be a real boost to your application. UMich and the UCs are fairly stats-based in their admissions, so the benefits could be significant

Your extracurricular activities certainly pass muster at a glance, and I doubt those will disadvantage you at any school. You should probably know that any activities you haven’t already become involved in, probably won’t show the “long-term commitment” that colleges like to see* - so making the tennis team now wouldn’t matter all that much.

*The one exception is activities where you receive a major award. If you have the ability, schools won’t care if you learned about a sport or a scientific field the week before the competition in question.

Overall, you seem to be in good shape as an in-state applicant for UCB or UCLA, but anything can happen. UMich is a longer shot, though you’ve still got a chance. Make sure to find safeties between now and next fall.

I agree with the above poster that since you are instate for UCLA and UCB, you should be in good shape. However, I know you said you do not want to retake the SAT, but in your case it can only help your chances, especially because you have so much time!

The OOS admission rate for UMich was 20% last year. Your GPA is good while your SAT score is around the average of applicants and below admission average. UMich would be a low reach for you.
