I am volunteering at my local United Way and at a hospice with 500 documented volunteer hours. I participate in Model UN at my school and attended a few conferences, but nothing to major. I am president of my schools Multicultural Club as well and our club host events at my school celebrating different cultures such as Latin Dance Competition, walking in our towns MLK parade, and celebrating teacher appreciation by making a traditional dish from a different country. I also hosted a 5K Race at my school this year that is opened to the community and is 100% sponsored based. All proceeds go to a scholarship my school gives out.
I have a 3.56 unweighted gpa because I mostly got Bs freshman and sophomore year, but I am trying to get a 3.6 or higher by the end of the school year. I have a 4.7 Weighted GPA.
I have a 34 on the ACT and a 2300 on the SAT. I got my score by studying rather than paying for SAT prep courses.
I am currently in the Top 10% of my class. I know I don’t stand out in terms of GPA, but my goal is attend UF and hopefully attend Med School in the future. The only terrible grade I have on my transcript is a C in Chemistry, but my high school chemistry was terrible teacher because she never taught. I do have an A in General Chemistry to make up for my lousy grade I received in 10th Grade Honors Chemistry to prove that I do not suck at Chemistry.
These are not the only schools I plan on applying to. I am also planning on applying to Florida Gulf Coast Univ., NYU, FSU, Boston Univ., and University of Pittsburgh.
Should I also mention that I am Mexican American
