Please be honest but not mean, thanks!

Just my opinion, so take it with a grain…

Your GPA is great…as long as that’s unweighted.

Your ACT and SAT are below average for UMich

If you’re in state and from an under-represented school district, you have a chance.

If you’re from out of state, your chances are slim…unless you’re from someplace like Nebraska that has few applicants.

Nothing in your EC’s suggests a passion for biomedical engineering. A little bit of support for law school. But both of these programs are insanely competitive at UMich. Competitive enough that those low scores will get you deferred.

Try again on your ACT/SAT

Try to engage in an EC project that stands out and sells your ambition ASAP.

Visit Ann Arbor and stay for a couple days if possible. See if you like the city/people vibe…see if it’s a good fit.

Is your 3.98 GPA weighed or unweighed?

I assume you are OOS, so I would say Michigan is a reach regardless, but a 3.98 unweighed GPA, with the number of AP courses you have taken or will take is just what Michigan is looking for.

Retake the SAT or ACT, especially if you want to be admitted to engineering. Median SAT is 1440, ACT is 33. If you are OOS you will need to be above that for the best chance.
