I’m sorry for being rude, but you have no chance, 0%, of getting into UNC if your only in the top 40-50% of your class. You may get into those other schools, but UNC is out of reach. Go ahead and apply if you want to because you can but your just going to be wasting your money.

You’re a little late on that one, I’ve already applied early action and the deadline was last Monday. And as for a waste of money, that’s for me to decide. I highly doubt my chances are 0 percent. They might be extremely low, but not necessarily 0. And also, aren’t you 17 as well? How do you qualify to make any of those accusations?

I qualify because I am a fellow students who has researched nearly every top school. I am solely providing my opinion and advice, and I do apologize for saying you have a 0% chance of getting in. However, to be honest you do not have a high chance since your solely better than only about half of your class. That means nearly 40% of kids, JUST AT YOUR SCHOOL, are more qualified to attend those upper level schools since they have the good grades. However, you do have good EC’s and those may take you a long way, but then again what do I know?

fchris it’s kids like you that make this website inaccurate. If you’re going to tell someone that they have a 0% chance then please be an admissions officer.

If you think she could get into UNC, then you are mistaken. I don’t come on this website to give advice, I come here to tell the truth. I don’t try to crush dreams, I come here to tell the truth. I don’t try to ruin some little girl’s perfect plan, I come here to tell the truth. The truth is UNC is one of the best schools in the nation, and she just is not good enough with that SAT score and GPA, no matter how good her EC’s are. But maybe she should listen to your advice stewfoo since your obviously more qualified to be the admissions officer.

fchris13 I’d like to know all of you’re stats and where you’re applying to college. There is a fine line between telling the truth and being rude and you’re clearly crossing that line. You’re not discouraging me and my “perfect plan.” I’m a big girl, I have realistic goals, and UNC is not at the top my list. So chill out, you’re 17 years old, you don’t need to be telling other 17 year old’s their not good enough. That’s the job of adults and more specifically college admissions officers. Thanks for helping me stewfoo412, much appreciated.

Fchris13 was just giving his opinion. That’s the thing with opinions, sometimes you agree and sometimes you dont. It kind of sounds like you we’re expecting everyone to say you we’re in, but that’s not always the case. We’re all nervous and applying to schools. I do agree that you don’t have a zero chance, everyone at least has SOME chance, unless you’re applying to Harvard with a 22 ACT. Have you tried taking the ACT, btw? Could possible five you better results. Good luck! Who knows, maybe ill see you at NC State ;)
