What are my chances of getting into University of Michigan Ann Arbor

I just want to know what you think my chances are of getting into University of Michigan Ann Arbor with a 4.0 gpa, 1150 sat, and receiving numerous nationally recognized academic award along with a lot of volunteer work and an Internship with the attorney general. It’s my dream school and I really want to go, but I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished enough.

Are you instate? Your Sat is very low for Michigan. Needs to be retaken. Might want to give the Act a try. If it’s the Michigan Attorney General they might have connections to Michigan. Hate to say this but use every source you can. It’s a very hard school to get into from OOS. They only look at unweighted GPA also.
They take the Essay very seriously and they want to know you want to be there. Check Naviance for what scores got in from your school in the past. The “numerous” academic awards are great but don’t explain a low Sat

Assuming your GPA is unweighted, it’s excellent and GPA and rigor are considered the most important factors in the UMich admissions decision.

The SAT 25/75 for the Class of 2022 was 1,380-1,540, so your SAT is well below the 25th percentile.

Class of 2023 here, OOS. Considering what you’ve said about your academic abilities and extracurriculars, I would think you’d have a good shot. Your awards and internship already sound much more impressive than mine (although I am more of STEM person). That’s why I think essay responses played a big role in my acceptance to U-Mich. I would say definitely craft your essay responses well, focusing on points like what you’re passionate about, how U-Mich can help you achieve your goals, and how you’re a good fit for the community. Like what @Knowsstuff said, I think you should consider retaking the SAT or trying the ACT. I’ve never taken the ACT, but you might do better on it as many of my peers have. Also, try applying Early Action because even if you get deferred, you’ll get another shot with Regular Decision results.

As stated above the Sat is to low. Work on improving that.

As other posters have mentioned, the only problem is that your SAT is too low. Try the ACT (31 or higher) or work on improving the SAT to 1400+. Your grades (again, assuming that’s unweighted) are great and your awards and EC’s are, too!
