I am currently finishing up my junior year of high school. With my senior year and college applications just around the corner, I've been thinking a lot about college admissions. I really want to go to ut Austin. It's a perfect fit for me, it has a very strong engineering program, it's not too far from home but Austin is big enough to provide new experiences, it has a great campus/resources, and I've been a t-shirt fan all of my life. However, me and my siblings will be first generation college goers. Therefore we didn't know much about what was important for impressing colleges and I haven't exactly been outgoing in high school. I'm a smart guy and I make good grades but they aren't great, especially at a fairly competitive school. I could have done a lot better but aside from being an introvert I'm something of a procrastinator. Not that I'm some kind of lazy genius I just now I could have done much better. Anyways here are my stats.

SAT:
Math-710 (needs improvement if I want to study an engineering discipline at Cockrell)
Reading-750
Writing-680

GPA:
UW: 3.7
W: 4.0

Class Rank: 71/490 (I know, most likely one to hold me back)

I've taken all pre-AP (I guess that's the same as this honors people keep talking about) classes every year and AP when available that includes APUSH and APLaC. However next year my schedule will consist of digital electronics, dual cred English, AP calc, AP stats, AP physics b & AP c, AP gov/econ, and band.

My ECs are horrible. I've only done band and robotics club (robo club did go to world, not sure if that's actually means anything though). I will have about 120+ hours of volunteer work and I'm in NHS. I could also try my hand at BPA and chess club next year, however I doubt that they will count much if I join them during my senior year. Also both the robotics and chess club are brand knew and word about knew clubs doesn't get around much at my school or I probably would have joined both sooner than I did.

Like I said I'm an introvert. So even though many of my teachers like me, I don't know them well enough to get any great letters of recommendation.

Sorry if I've rambled or given superfluous information or explanation. I already have studied up on ut Austin admissions and I know my chances aren't great but I just kind of want to hear other people's opinions. Thanks, any input is appreciated.

p.s. I have seen what my transcript looks like so far and it doesn't list any of my pre-AP classes as being pre-AP. How will universities know I haven't just been taking regular clases?
