What are my chances of getting into William and Mary

I am a High School Senior at TJHSST planning on applying to William and Mary Early Decision 1. My GPA is 3.815 weighted, 35 ACT, 1530 SAT, 800 Biology SATII, 800 Chemistry SATII, 800 Math 2 SATII, and 750 Physics SATII. I have average EC’s and 1 leadership position. I have done winter track for winter and spring of junior year, receiving a varsity letter and qualifying for district championships. What are my chances of getting into William and Mary?

I just got my first quarter grades and would like to submit them. Does anyone know how I should do this? Should I scan the document and send an email?

I think your application looks strong as is. I don’t know that W&M considers 1st quarter grades–they will request a mid year report. Check with your counselor for their opinion.

W&M loves TJ kids and your test scores are very strong. I think you’ll get in, especially since you’re applying ED. Good luck!

@patriotsfan1 please check in and tell us how you did with applying to WM!

I also have a TJ kid. Male applicant. strong interest in geoscience. Wants to continue Music ECs.

Current junior. 1520 SAT (740 V/780M) as a sophomore. Retook last week and scores outstanding. 800 Math 2. Physics and Lit and and maybe US History in June, to submit math 2, a humanities and physics of it is strong.

3.97 W GPA after sophomore year. Pulled down bemused C+ in Math 3 and 4 before rebounding to a B in 5 and likely A- in AB. Looks like a 4.0-4.1 after junior year. Taking music (all 4 years, so lots of summer school), APUSH, AP AB, English, Physics 1, Electronics I (Digital) Anthro, 2 semesters of tech lab pre-.

Senior year, AP BC, Stats II (AP) or Crypto, Geoscience, AP Gov, AP Lit, Music, senior Lab and proto. Cool lab project idea tvat need a proto background, but not sure the project will pan out.

He looks a lot like your profile. So— did you get in? Naviance is terrible with ED vs RD, make v female, etc. I’d love to hear from BTDT if you have a minute.

WM May be his first choice. He’s doing a class there this summer which I hope will clarify thing. . I’m tempted to push him to ED, to increase his oddsv with the lower GPA. .

Your GC should be able to give you relevant advice and data on W&M chances. A lot of kids go there from TJ. Friends and family have complained about lack of personal info especially regarding OOS colleges, but they all were pretty solid regarding TJ knowledge of in state options.

My nephew went to W&M; actually two of them, one from TJ and one from OOS. For the OOSer , who had the stronger numbers, it was not the most selective school on his list. He was told that with legacy standing, he would get in state consideration and it turned out to be the most selective school that accepted him other than a directional state school. The one from TJ was told he had an excellent chance of getting in with numbers (though I only know UW GPA and test scores) not as high as your son’s. The OOSer had numbers way up there, and applied mainly to the most selective schools. Both loved their experiences there. It was high in our kids’ lists too. I envy Virginians for their wonderful public school choices

^ among the best in the nation. Very fortunate!

Thanks for your support guys. I got in, but I did not get Monroe scholars. Sorry for the late response @NOVA2024.
