I am an Out of State asian female student from an elite arts/performing arts school in nyc. Currently I am in my Junior year.
Since William and Mary is my first choice, I plan to do Early Decision. I was just wondering what my chances are and what more I can do to possibly get admitted.
Here are my stats:
Grades-
Weighted GPA 91, excluding Junior year grades (grades not in yet)
My Marking Period average right now though is a 93.
Tests-
Did not take SAT yet but my psat was 1170 without any prior studying. I’m starting prep classes very soon and want at least 1300.
Courses-
My course load is not very heavy at the moment because I was struggling my sophomore year with a class, but I want to possibly address that in my application.
AP: World History (90 average, 4 on the exam)
Honors: French 5/6
I will heavily increase course load senior year with AP Gov and AP Environmental along with several Honors.
EC-
- I am in a college/career/ professional life readiness program after passing a competitive app process. It is a 6 year commitment so I finish when I graduate college.
- I was in my school’s photography club for a year
- I am a Lieutenant in the NYPD Law Enforcement Explorers Program since freshman year. It is helps us look into the career of policing with drills and such. We do lots of community service.
- I am the Vice President of the OBGYN club
- No sports clubs or teams, but recreationally play ice hockey
- I plan to do the National History Academy next summer.
- Possibly joining more clubs senior year
Awards-
- I won an essay comp and a special award from NYPD during my Police Explorers academy in 2017
I have 100+ hours of community service.
I plan to get 2-3 nice rec letters too.
I also plan to attend their interview next summer. I have a big passion for history so that is my intended major. Thank you!!
