What are my chances of getting into Yale?

Hi! I am a high school junior who is worried about the future
Anyway, I was going to post some information about myself and please be honest and tell me if you think I have a shot.

GPA: 3.9 unweighted
ACT: 29, but Iā€™m taking it 2 times this year so Iā€™m pretty sure it will go up.
CLASS RANK: I donā€™t know my exact number (Iā€™m going to ask asap) but Iā€™m in the top 10%
CLASSES:
Freshman year:

  • Honors Mississippi studies/Honors geography
  • Honors Spanish 2 (I took Spanish one in junior high)
  • STEM (a required computer course)
  • Honors English 1
  • Theatre 1
  • honors geometry
  • advanced freshman choir (not like an advanced ā€œhonorsā€ class, but it is an elite auditioned choir class)
  • honors biology
    Sophomore:
  • Honors English 2
  • honors algebra 2 (I took honors algebra one in junior high)
  • advanced madrigal choir (once again, an elite auditioned choir, that I was a section leader in)
  • Honors world history
  • French 1
  • honors human anatomy and physiology
  • honors/advanced theatre (this was both an elite, auditioned course and honors credit)
  • art 1
    Junior year:
  • english college composition 1
  • honors trigonometry/precalculus
  • college us history
  • honors chemistry
  • honors French 2
  • advanced art 2 (elite and honors credit)
  • drawing/painting
  • advanced madrigal choir (I am section leader again)
    OTHER FACTS:
  • I have volunteered at the state hospital for about 1 year, 3 times a week for a total of 9 hours a week.
-I am an officer in my schools chapter of the national honor art society
  • I got an award for the most volunteer hours in art club
  • I get into my states advanced state honor choir every year (to put that in perspective, 15 people from my school audition, and 3-6 people make it)
  • I have made an elite girls treble song choir for 2 years in a row now
  • I have gone to multiple advanced summer camps, like duke tip
  • I have gotten awards every year for placing the highest scores on my state testing
  • I am often lead roles in theatre
  • I have volunteered for fall fest at my countyā€™s preschool 2 years in a row
  • I am in my school districts ā€œsuper scholarsā€ which means I am in a group of about 20 out of 320+ kids in my class. This group of 20 takes the most advanced courses that my school has to offer.
  • I have taken piano for 2 years, and have advanced to playing pieces that people who have been playing for 5+ years in my area play and I compete in 3+ competitions a year
  • I compete in choir and theatre competitions 10+ total a year

Sorry itā€™s so long, I know Yale likes all the extracurricular stuff too. Like to show dedication and such, and leadership (at least thatā€™s what their website said) so I included it here. There is probably more Iā€™m forgetting, butā€¦ Anyway, thanks for reading and please tell me what you think.

OH!!! Side note, I make all Aā€™s (like 95+) in all my classes except for math, where I make Bā€™s (like 80-86ā€™s) math isnā€™t really my strong suit but I do stay once or twice a week for tutoring.

You will definitely need to increase your ACT score if you want a solid chance of getting in. You may also want to consider taking SAT subject tests because although they arenā€™t required if you take the ACT with writing, many applicants will have taken them.

@sophie9999 Thanks so much for replying!!! Iā€™ve been working very hard before I take the ACT again, with multiple workbooks and tutoring. My tutor is thinking it will come up around 4-5 points by application time (I have a while lol) and thank you for the recommendation of the SAT subject tests!

Does your school offer AP classes? I see a lot of honors classes, but if your school offers AP, this will hurt you because schools like Yale will want you to take the hardest classes available to you. Your extracurricular activities are fine, just keep them up.

Itā€™s great to aim high. No one can count on admission to Yale. The chances are remote.

What other schools interest you that you have a realistic chance of admission?

@sophie9999 We have a couple AP classes, but they mostly arenā€™t available until senior year. College classes/ dual enrollment are available for me though, and Iā€™m taking 2 of them. I live in MS, so my options are sorta sucky lol

@ClarinetDad16 My scores and stuff now are a shoe in already for all of the local colleges near me, but itā€™s hard to find a good physical/biological anthropology major available (I want to go into forensic anthropology) so I have to sorta shoot higher than those, but I know my ACT score will go up, because the time I took it was early sophomore year, and I didnā€™t study or anything, so when I do, it makes sense that it would go up lol. Anyway, Iā€™m also applying to university of Tennessee, university of Pennsylvania, all 3 in-state colleges.
