you look good, but ur SAT score is a bit low, how have you done on ur subject test and what’s your GPA
Can you get recruited by Yale? Your profile is pretty good but getting recruited would be very helpful
I know I can get my SAT up at least to a 1500. And, my GPA unweighted is a 4.0. Subject tests 750 on U.S history and 790 on biology.
Well, if the only thing standing between acceptance and denial is the fact that you’re in the 95th percentile instead of the 97th, say, that’s an admissions office so fixated on numbers that you might be better off somewhere else. Sounds like you’re already a competitive applicant, but I’d focus on essays as the difference-maker.
The acceptance rate at Yale this year was under 7% – that means that the school simply does not have enough room to accept all qualified candidates. I’d recommend that you give up the idea of a dream school and focus your attention on creating a solid college list that includes reach, match, and safety schools that appear affordable (find out your parents’ budget and run the net price calculator for each school) and that you would be excited to attend. The people I see who get hurt by the college admission process are the ones who focus on one or two hyper-competitive schools and then don’t get in. You should expand your horizons and recognize that there are many wonderful schools out there where you can have a great 4 year experience and get where you want to go in life.
Are you URM? I saw lot of students in University of Michigan Health Sciences Pre-College Exposure Academy are URM. If so, I have you have a good chance. Nothing is guarantee but better chance.
