What are my chances of getting scholarship and aids in US universities as a Nepali student?

I graduated from my high school this September, and have been on a gap year since then. I am really looking forward to being a part of an undergraduate program in United States, but I am kind of afraid that I won’t be accepted in many of the universities given my financial needs. I have maintained a good academic record throughout my high school, and received 118 in TOEFL and 1420 in SAT, which I think is not enough to land a good scholarship. Furthermore, all the criteria mentioned in the application such as leadership and extra curricular activities are not something I excel in. All i have is a good academic report, and I don;t think it is enough, but I cannot stop the whole application process based on this sole factor. So, which colleges will I have better chances in? Honest answer will always be appreciated,
Thank you.

The truth is college education in Us is very expensive. You need to be a top flight student to get merit based scholarship. You 1420 SAT score is good but not fantastic. You don’t say what course you take, how did you do in them. What did you do in gap year? May be that can be your extra-curricular. What colleges do you have in find? Most people from outside only think of top name schools. Applying itself is also expensive. But, don’t get disheartened. Write a great college essay. Apply and see if that works. One can never tell.

Thank You. Well, I am planning to take SAT again this December, and in the gap period I mostly just volunteered here and there, and had a short internship too. My subject in high school was science which covered most of the required laboratory time. I am not expecting to get into the highest ranked colleges; I guess, even the ones with average rankings would do for me.
