What are my chances of successfully transferring to an Out of State University?

To make a long story short, I’m a college freshman attending a community college for two years then transferring. At first, I was going to transfer to an in-state university but I’ve come to really understand how I want to experience life in another state and how this might be my chance. My parents always said I can go wherever I want as long as the tuition is covered and what not.

I’ve already contacted the school’s admissions office and they accept all credits from the community college I’m attending. The only problem I have now is the school’s Cost of Attendance. The school I wanna go to’s Cost of Attendance is about $30K. My High School GPA was a 3.15. Say if I were to really be on my game these next two years and get really good grades, do you think the school would offer me a lot of money? I’m not expecting a full ride of course, but big money grants would be nice.

Of course, I plan on applying for outside scholarships but right now, I want all of the grants I can get in these next two years?

I know I might have the bar set too high. I’ll probably end up staying in-state but I’d at least like to try. What do you guys think?

You need to run the NPC for private colleges that are OOS. OOS publics are known not to be generous with OOS students. Maybe UVA is an exception to that. If you get on your game and get something close to a 4.0 then you could have a chance at some decent money, but not from a public school.
