My freshmen year of college, in 2006, I received a 2.06 GPA. I have since returned to the College of Dupage and have maintained a 3.76 GPA. My cumulative GPA is now 2.86. I have some great recommendations from my professors and am taking 21 credits this semester, so I anticipate my GPA being around a 3.1 by the end of the spring, but admissions will only see the 2.86 as the spring semester will have not finished by the time of the decision. I want to transfer to receive a BA in Economics at the LAS college of the University of Illinois Chicago. I'm a bit nervous that my GPA is too low even with the drastic spike in grades. What are my chances? Does anyone know the average LAS transfer GPA? Thanks for your insight.

You should be fine. From what I’ve read as long as you complete the prerequisites and meet the minimum GPA you will be admitted.
Read that from a UIUC blog, so you shouldn’t have a hard time transferring to UIC.
