What do I need to show in order to transfer after one year from a Canadian university to an American university, an din particular an Ivy League? I'm eyeing Brown in particular, but I want to transfer to other Ivy's as well as other top-tier American colleges. So what do these universities look for in a successful transfer applicant, specifically? Obviously, top grades, but what else? Numerous volunteer/research hours?

Also, will my not having gone to a non-top 5 Canadian university hurt my chances? The university I'm thinking of going to is York University in Toronto, Ontario (if any of you have ever heard of it...) Will taking (and achieving good scores) on the SAT's and the ACT help my chances? Or do they not look at the grades at all?

Any advice on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks so much!!
