Im planning on transferring into landscape architecture or environmetal design at UC Davis for fall of 2016 if i get in from a CCC. I currently have a 2.96 GPA but after this fall if all goes according to plan I can reach a 3.41 gpa for my transfer academic update. The reason my gpa is so low now is because i screwed up one physics class and got a D. Right now I am currently retaking the physics class.
I have pretty decent extra curricular and am working two jobs: computer repair and Im a waiter. My personal statement is pretty strong also.
What are my chances of getting into UC davis??
Just curious
The fact you are re-taking the course with the D now makes it a tough call… you won’t be TAG eligible which is bad. Their first look at your application will still show a D and sub 3 gpa - also bad. An A in Physics could sway them but, you are going to need a back up plan.
Do you qualify to TAG UCR?
The only reason I have the sub 3 is because of the D other wise id be around a 3.2 but after this semester if it all goes to plan i’m looking at a 3.41 which should be rather easy now that I graduated high school and don’t have to worry about high school classes.
I took all my college classes (about 40 units) during high school. I was wondering if that meant anything to the admissions.
You can explain your situation on your application. I’d suggest you contact the school directly to understand how they will evaluate your application.
Good luck.
Thank you. hopefully my personal statements and improvements this year will sway them.
I hear my major isn’t too selective so I hope that helps.
I have had many people read my personal statement and they say its very powerful
