what are my chances on SAT math...>.<

well this is my first post so i say "Hi" to our community! i know SAT's are comin back tomorrow but i cant wait, what do you guys figure my chances of getting 700+ on the math section are? i -know- i left either 2 or 3 blank (not counting the experimental section). i also know i probably got 2 or 3 wrong. =(, are the chances good as long as the raw score is like, 47+?

Well the curve varies a bit from test to test, but I got a 740 on the math section in May with 50 right, 3 wrong, and 1 omitted out of 54 questions which gave me a raw score of 49.

So if the curve is similar, I think you might be okay

Lets see, if you left 3 blank and got 3 wrong you'll get around 670. If you got 2 wrong and left 2 then you'll get around 720. So you'll probably end up with 670-740.

i heard a lot of other people commenting on how they thought the curve would be much better for the december test because the math section did seem quite a bit harder (it seemed fairly hard to me as well, compared to all the practice tests i took at least). im hoping the curve goes something like:
800-54 raw
790-53 raw
770-52 raw
760-51 raw
740-50 raw
720-49 raw
700-48 raw
would u guys say thats a pretty good estimate for the curve?

Well, isn't that how it's always been? Or wait.. I thought it dropped more steeply...

im not really sure if it drops more steeply or not. but based on the scores i got on my practice test, this is a pretty "average" curve. since this math test was harder, one might even go so far as to say a 47 raw score would get you a 700 and that would build up.

that curve isn't as harsh as the real thing (usually...). I got a 51/54 and received a 720. The time before a 50/54 and a 710, but on other tests, the scaled scores were as high as 740 and 720 respectively. It's hard to guess, but I'd say you got like a 680 or 700.

680-710. My bet is on 690.

770-800 for one wrong. You can't get two wrong and get a 770.

I don't think I've ever seen a curve where you can get an 800 with one wrong. However, with a curve of 800 790 770, you can miss two and still get 770.

That's what I meant, my mistake. 770-790 for one wrong.
You could be right but in March it was 800 790 760 I think.

It was 800 790 760 even in OCT.

ouch, that second wrong answer is painful.

taffy - this may sound really weird, and I'm probably just blabbing because it's so bloody late, but you seem really cool. um, maybe I'm only saying this because you actually sound human... no offense to everyone else here, but this website really REEKS of frightening OCD perfectionism, and you actually seem to be sane. wow. kudos. good luck with all your apps.

haha thanks, ill see ya around.

in march i got 48 out of 54 and got a 720

in october i got 51 out of 54 and got a 720

ahah goodtimes.

lol aight well i got my 720 :D

although i dont know my raw score yet, but im -fairly- happy i guess. gonna retake in jan to get 700+ writing and 750+ math. got 700 reading WOOOOT!!
