Hi I am a high school senior from a public high school in California(ranked in top #250 in us news high schoolrankings). I have about a 3.8 uw and a 4.2 w gpa. My ec's are 200+ hours volunteering at a hospital, 3 years in girl up club, 3 years in Red Cross Association club, and 2 years in Teach club at my school. I have a great recommendation letter from my counselor, math teacher, and english teacher. My sat is 2150 and act 29. What do you think my chances are of getting into UC Davis?

Please calculate your UC GPA, see link: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
What is your intended major??? Average STATS for in-coming Freshman 2014:
GPA: 4.07
SAT: 1924
ACT: 28
You seem to be above the 50th percentile for all STATs so I would say Match. UC’s do not accept letters of recommendation, so you need to write some good essays. Good Luck, Go Aggies!!!

My son got into Davis (Arts & Sciences college) with a 3.3-3.4 UW GPA/UC-weighted GPA of slightly over 4.0; 31 ACT/2060 SAT; strong leadership ECs. He was out-of-state. Your chances look pretty solid, provided you aren’t applying to a more competitive department.

I’m planning on applying to the Human Ecology department for a human development major.

I would be surprised if you did not get in

UC Davis is one of those UC’s that STRONGLY puts emphasis on statistics, and your stats are very good (especially your SAT) so I would think you’d definitely have an exceptional chance at being accepted. But keep in mind the entire UC system does not accept letter of recommendations. Good luck :-)
