Yeah.. my ECs suck..

My essays were about COSMOS and cosplaying.

I would refigure your gpa the GT way. If it’s in their range then you should get in.

Get absorbed in your school work and hanging out with friends until it is 2 p.m. this Saturday. Nobody here can chance you accurately.

MichiganGeorgia, what is their range?

last years admitted class tech version of the gpa was a■Mid-50% GPA: 3.77 - 4.08

Rays is correct that there is no way for anyone for say for sure. However if your GT gpa is at the top of the range then I think you have a good chance. Plus being a girl may help since they are trying to adjust the ratio.

M/G - not for my IB Diploma and AP w/ Honor son (will most likely be distinguished after Sr year AP’s). NHS, NSHS, Tri-M NHS…deep EC’s. Seemed to be a good fit on the high side of last years admitted and he was deferred. Counselor also said if your high school and county are well represented then they widen the net a little - the local geography diversity. Don’t know how true any of this is true. Had a rough 1st semester senior year (he was told to expect this from IN Coordinator) and his mid- year geades were not anything to improve grades 9-11. Looking at OOS scholarship options. So - OP - maybe, maybe not.

If your GPA is within the average range and your essays are good, GT should be a low match. I’d be surprised if you don’t get in.

Honestly, your GPA is good and scores as well. Your SAT is better than mine and I got in EA. Don’t sweat it! You’ll do great things no matter where you go.

Best of luck  Let us know

GT is definitely a match for you. Good luck!

Thanks so much, guys! :D

ThreeofThree - I don’t know why your DS got deferred.Doesn’t make sense to me. Our high school is one of the top in Georgia and has quite a few that got accepted EA.They all seem like smart kids. However, kids from our school do really well at GT so perhaps they did widen the net for them. I’m not sure. I still think your son will get in RD.

Firstly, are you considered a domestic or international student? That’s the most important piece of information. Secondly are you a resident of Georgia (there might be a little bit of an instate preference)? Other than that, Grades, courses & SAT are very good. But EC’s are just so,so. GL.

What do you suggest sosomenza? I am an international applicant for RD from Poland.

International Asian applicants face stiff internal competition. I’m not not sure about Polish cadidates. Anyone?

Thanks M/G - I just got home and laughed at my post. I really have to quit whining about this. Every now and then it just hits me as odd and I backslide (he’s doing much better than me) since he’s still busy with school…but there are reasons and they are the experts at determining who will/won’t fit. He has other great opportunities and we need to appreciate those. As far as still getting in - yes, he was only deferred but to have his GPA drop as much as it did after first semester, unless Tech is looking at something else (he didn’t add any new heavy EC’s) that I can’t see he will either be denied or wait-listed. Either way, he needs to move on. Last time I talk about this and really congrats to all who did get in EA!

Sosomenza, I’m a domestic student, OOS

Your chances should be very good. GL

I only know that there are currently no Polish students at GT and nobody have been admitted in the last three years from my country for any level of education. They generally have shortage of students from Eastern Europe, maybe 10-12 currently attending. So maybe they do not like us :(

@RaysGatorsFan : if both of us get into GT, would you mind be my friend ? I want to learn more about east europe!

^I too will be your friend
