Your ACT is a little low for Richmond, but GPA and ECs are good. What do you want to major in? What is your financial situation? Can you afford UR?

I want to major in bio and yes I can afford Richmond. @mamag2855

I have 2 daughters at UR majoring in Biochemistry and the sciences are great there, lots of research opportunities. As

I said before, your ACT is a little low for UR, their 25%ile ACT is 30, but the rest of your stats look good. If you have any other science electives on your transcript, that would be helpful, too. Good essays and any other hooks would help also. I would say that UR is a reach school for you, but certainly you have a chance of being accepted.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you very much!

Actually according to the 2013/14 Common Data set, the 25% for ACT is 28 for enrolled freshman at the University of Richmond so your ACT score is right in line with admitted students.

The 25%ile ACT for admitted students is 30, as reported by UR in their admitted student profile on their website:
http://admissions.richmond.edu/studentprofile/academics.html

The common data set reports %iles for enrolled students and is slightly lower than range of scores reported for admitted students.

Common data set is considerably lower than what is on their website.

What’s reported on their website for class of 2015 student profile is the average of who actually committed to Richmond. The common data set just came out and overall, numbers are a little lower. Good news for OP

So then which one does the schools go by? I realize that what kids who committed but does that mean that is what they are looking for? Or is it the common data?

@15aflynn - be positive and try not to worry, there are a significant number of students with test scores similar to yours at UR I think you have a solid chance of being accepted.

Thank you! I appreciate it! I’ll just hope for the best @mamag2855
