What are my chances please?

Hey! I would really appreciate it if you guys could tell me what my chances are for the University of Maryland: College Park.

My Stats:

GPA: 3.7 weighted (94)
SAT: 570 verbal, 680 math, 680 writing, 11 essay (1250/1600, 1930/2400)
ACT: 30 composite (33 english, 30 math, 29 reading, 28 science), 32 english/writing, 10 writing
APs: Four ~ AP U.S. in Junior year (3 on exam, B+ final grade), AP Micro(B+), AP Chemistry (C+), and AP Calculus AB (B+) currently in Senior year
SAT II: Biology 610 (give me a break, I was a freshman :P)
Essays: Very good
Recommendations: Very good (I think since I never saw them)

I'm worrried that my test scores might be too low (even though I think I have the GPA for it and my admissions counselor at the school also told me that they take the highest score of SAT/ACT (whichever one)). Will my 30 on the ACTs get me in? Is anything holding me back from getting in? Please share your input by all means. Thank you!

I would also like to add that I have a lot of extracurricular activities!

30 ACT is equal to a 1980 so theyll take that....u will get in

Your out of state, so its a bit harder. GPA and ACT are all in line but out of state is more competitive. You should need like a 1300/1600 ish to guarantee. Good chances but good chances of getting waitlisted or deferred, good sr grades come into play since the official ad com position is if your on the border line they request sr grades and if theyre good your likely in

pollyo... but a 30 ACT score is converted to a 1340/1600 on the SATs... so shouldnt that count.................

ur SAT is average, ur GPA is below average. You are out of state, ur chance is probably 40% of getting in

as ill say AGAIN... my 30 ACT score (1340 SAT score out of 1600 converted) is my highest score... and they only look at the highest score... and AGAIN ill say that my gpa is unweighted 3.7... no idea wut it is weighted...

u are in.....ull prolly get into the scholars program

haha really??... didnt think of that... i applied to the business program btw...

you probably applied as a business major. You will get invited to scholars or honors if you qualify. I am a business major in the scholars program. After getting into the scholars program you pick 3 of the 12(i think) scholar programs you want to be in and rank them. They will review your app and then assign you to a program. Some of the scholar programs are harder to get into than others based on demand. There are about 70 students in each scholar program. I am in the business scholars program. I had a 3.4 somin UW 4.0 W and 1380 SAT

Looking at your ACT you should be in and have a shot with either the scholar or honors. The assignment is sorta hard to tell with people in the middle but honors is better and overall harder to get into. Being OOS will hurt but I think you are in and do have a shot at these programs. Your SAT isn't that bad anyways.

Now people have said that there is a 1300 SAT minimum to get into LEP programs. Business is an LEP program. I don't know the whole truth about this but last year I definately remember hearing it. There are people in scholars that didn't get into the business school. Hopefully they will look at your ACT when deciding on the major also.

thanks cheapseats i REALLY appreciate it... ur a great help... and yea hopefully they will look at my ACT scores which im pretty sure they will :P
