Comments: It probably seems as though I'm trying to stretch out my extracurrics and leadership positions, and the reason for that is because I am...As anyone can clearly see my extracurrics are weak, and my leadership positions are near laughable...The problem I have is not doing anything 9th-10th and majority of 11th, especially a HUGE drop in rank during my 10th grade year. Plus as seen, I don't have that many solid activities/leadership positions.
What I'm wondering is if my test scores/essays/teacher recs will make up for my lack of extracurrics and mediocre rank, though my rank should improve by a lot if I'm applying regular decision.
By the way, if there's one thing my teachers have complimented me on, it's my essays; I think writing is my strongest "talent" if that can be considered a talent.
Teacher recs I'm not so sure: my recent teachers seem to like me a lot, but there is a sufficient number of teachers, especially most of my 9th/10th grade teachers, that don't think very highly of me.

Schools that I want to apply to:
University of Texas at Austin (Plan II honors program hopefully)
Rice University
Northwestern University
Georgetown University
New York University
edit: oh yea and I'm thinking about applying to University of Chicago

Thanks guys, I appreciate it, don't be afraid to be harsh...I'm one person that probably needs a little criticism to set me on the right track =P

well, you don't need a huge list of ECs. as long as they are focused and show passion you should be fine, but leadership positions don't neccessary have to be pres. or secretary, it could also be organizing an event or something along those lines

bump! anyone?!??!
by the way thank you caligurl, I've organized a couple events for my community, but its all for the Asian community >_<

well, if you include that it would show leadership qualities

Your leadership positions are only laughable if you say they're laughable when you write your app... and your ec's look fine. Don't be too hard on yourself- from outside the competitive bubble you appear to be doing quite well. Great scores on SATs and APs. When it comes to teacher recs, it's quite simple: ask the teachers that like you for recs... 11th grade teachers are better than 9th and 10th grade teachers for recs anyways. I'd say good chances at most if not all of those schools.

*bump
a couple more critiques please =]
