I screwed up in High School. I currently have a 3.72 weighted GPA as a Junior. Ive taken my SAT's I expect in the range of 1100 min to 1300 max. I have an average list of EC's including Director of Youth Group for an Arts Council, 200 hrs Volunteer at a Hospital and couple others, but I think i could fill all the slots in the app. I made the mistake of not taking any Ap's but since I am in a Magnet program by default I was enrolled in all Honors classes, and I did pretty well in all of them. Where i screwed up was in Alg 2 in which i recieved a C. I am in the top 12% of my High school. I am a first one from my family going to college, and my family income is about $50,000 supporting 6 family members. I am interested in all the UC's and some others such as Peppedine, USC, and Loyola. What are my chances at those schools, or have I screwed up?

good luck

UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD - high reach
UCR, UCSC, UCMerced - match
UCI, UCDavis, UCSB, USC - slight reach

well u need over at least + 1300 for sure if u stand a decent chance

Thanks uclover8..any other comments, suggestions, or insights from someone else also please?

I don't know if this is possible, but work your butt off this semester and get in the top 10%. even though its only a couple spots, it makes a huge difference. a score is 1300 would be best, but you will still get into some UC's w/ an 1100 i think. Unless you feel you can't do any better, take a prep course over the summer & take some practice tests. The improvement you'll make will shock you.

Top 10% + 1300 SAT = chance at all of your schools

thanks for your information guys..anyone else want to input something?

yeah... as stambliark41 said, i don't know if it's possible to raise your class rank a lot.. but if you can become ELC (top 4%), it definitely helps with admission to UC's

1100/2400 is pretty low ;p
and since im guessing you meant out of 1600, why do you not know your score yet? it came out 2 months ago.. and that was teh last oSAT

Acutally I ment out of 1600 because I don't know the scale for the New SAT. I took the new one this March. But If i can manage let's say 1200 do I still have a shot at my reach schools (UCSD UCLA UCB UCSB). Also is there anything I can do to make my application more appealing.

no ec's? If so, ivies are not an option, but you still have a chance for the uc's though.
