(Depend on college I’ll get into)"

What are my chances of getting into UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCD, UCR, UCM??
Dream school: USC!!
Both of my parents attended only some college. They do not speak English at all.
Thank you!

Do you have a green card? If not, then getting aid at USC may be an issue.

Do you know how much your parents will pay for college?

You’ll get instate rates at a UC, but if you don’t have a green card, then getting enough aid may be an issue.

You’ll probably certainly get into the lower UCs, but who knows about the top UCs. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Help your parents run the NPCs on the schools’ websites. Be sure to indicate whether you are an int’l or domestic (citizen/green card) resident.

You took AP Chinese and you are a Chinese native? Well I believe there is a problem with that! I’d expect that to be a red flag for any college admissions counselor.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of young people who speak a foreign language at home but have no formal training in reading and writing and would not be able to pass a standardized test in the target language without coursework.

Yes! I do have green card and my parents are willing to pay for my college tuitions. I am just curious which school would be my safe school?

mamaedefamilia-maybe so. This student has apparently been in the US for only 5 years-meaning that learning to read and write was probably already beyond the reading and writing level of the AP course by that point. I’d frown on it!

You need to raise that SAT by 200-250 points to get into your dream school and other 2 top schools in your list. With that score only the last 2 schools will open their doors to you. Consider ACT as an alternative test if could not raise SAT score!
