The schools I intend to apply to so far are Columbia (in new york), Colby, NYU, and Northeastern. What are my chances of getting into these schools?
Also, more importantly, should I apply ED to Colby? It's definitely my top choice...would applying ED there significantly improve my chances?
Thanks so much for any help!!

Hi sorry to bump the thread but it’s been a while and I still have no answers…any help is much appreciated!

Bump again…please help guys!
I’ll definitely chance you back if you leave a link (:

columbia is out. idk much about colby but if it’s your first choice then SURELY apply ED. it will up your chances significantly.

What is your class rank/percentile? Thats important. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with Colby honestly, but if you really want to, try ED. Also, your ECs are somewhat light, although your commitment to dance and theatre is likely to pop. Please emphasize the dancing a lot in your app (you didn’t really show it that well here). I would say Columbia is worth trying, especially if you can increase math to the higher 600’s or 700’s. I really see no reason for rejection from Colby.

Also, are you going to send an Art Supplement for Dance? I would strongly consider it if I were you.

Thanks!
My school doesn’t do class rank, but I think I might be in the top 10%…definitely in the top quarter.
I’m planning to emphasize dancing a lot…it’s the subject of my common application essay (though I’m also going to talk about being international, as Colby likes that), as it’s played a huge part in making me the person I am today. My dance school in the states was also really intense, it basically just took up all our time when you became part of the company, so I’m going to make that clear in the application. I’m also going to try to be more involved this year (I know senior year is a bit late, but I never had the opportunity in freshman/sophomore year because of ballet and junior year was a bit tough because of personal situations combined with moving).
I’m also working hard on math over the summer so I can improve my score for math.

What exactly is an art supplement? I’ve heard a little about it, but I have no idea how it works. It sounds like it would help my weak EC’s though.

Thanks so much for your feedback, it’s really helpful!!! :D

With your GPA/SAT, it’s doubtful that you will get into Columbia (no offense). But if you improve your math SAT, you definitely have a shot at NYU and Northeastern.

Yeah Columbia is a pretty serious reach, I’m mainly just applying because my mom went there and she wants me to…Colby is the school I’m really focusing on.

As a legacy you’re chances are somewhat better depending on how involved your family is with the school.
