I really want to find a good economics school, so far the only I've applied to are
-UChicago (Early Action)
-UF
(Florida Resident)

My SAT scores aren't too shabby I guess, although I don't know how they stand against UChicago.

-Math: 680
-CR: 730
-Writing: 790
SAT IIs
-Chemistry 780

My GPA is around 3.87 unweighted, 4.45ish weighted. (2nd in Class)

ECs

-NHS Treasurer
-Swim Team 2 years, School 100 yd Breaststroke Record Holder
-Academic Team (Brain Bowl) Co-Captain/ member 3 years
-9th Grade Jazz Band/Concert/Marching Band, Superior ratings in Solo & Ensemble
-UCC Youth Group all 4 years, 330+ hrs of Community Service

Jobs

-Speedway Emergency Medical Service- Senior Year (First Response Crew at local racetrack, driving ambulance/firetruck).

I'm nervous about Chicago, pretty sure about UF, and wondering if there's anywhere else I should really consider applying?

my family has <$60,000/Year, so colleges like Columbia and Chicago which offer really good financial aid for low income really appeal to me. Also, I think UF would be the only regional school I would want to go to, but other than that I’d pretty much be willing to go anywhere, although a little apprehensive about schools further west like Stanford

You would have a fine chance at many good LACs that give excellent aid and have good econ programs. Colgate, Bowdoin, Colby, Grinnell and Bates are a few. Vandy and Emory for larger Us. I think your CR plus math is a bit low for ivies, so I’d look just below there.

I’m a Florida Resident, too. =) I can tell you that being from Florida does tend to help a bit, depending on where you live. So, I’d give you a decent shot at UChicago, because your stats are indeed good. The essays, in your case, could be a determining factor, as your ECs are not super strong. Which essay did you do?
