The SAT score is low. That might get you into the school but probably not the engineering program. Getting in from the outside is cutthroat competitive, because that’s how they weed students out. Electrical engineering degrees are highly employable degrees anyway, so it really won’t matter much where you go to school. A lot of A&M and UT engineering rejects end up at Texas State and UTSA and end up doing very well.

Look at Texas tech too! Great school and good program. Keep the faith for Tamu but as they mentioned… very tough to get in with scores lower than 1300 it seems. Even for automatic admits.
