Applying to (in no specific order; all Regular Action/Decision)

Duke, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Caltech, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, UPenn, University of Toronto

will be asking for fin.aid to Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale (since they seem to be need-blind. am i wrong?)

What are my chances? Thanks for your reply.

Your rank/average is awesome, and your SAT is ok (it'd be awesome if you can raise SAT I to 2300+ and get 800's on all three of your SAT II's). Your EC's really stand out, and I particularly like your leadership in many of them. The fact that you are South Korea asking for finaid will hurt you, but I still think you'll get into at least half of the universities you are applying to.

Good luck!

I'd accept you into my super prestigious university.

Stanford is not need-blind, just remind you

Canakori:
Thank you for your comment! I have a faint hope now XD

MMEI:
OMG THANK YOU. IM EXCITED.

DinaZhang:
Thanks for the info.

Everyone, please give me comments and feedbacks! Thank you!

I think you have a fairly decent shot, your EC's and GPA are amazing. Good Luck with everything :)

Thank you for your comment Ilovesoftball =)

More comments would be greatly appreciated...(it'd be cool if someone could list the rough percentage of me getting into each school).

In my opinion,

Duke: 85%+
Cornell: 85%+
Harvard: 15%
MIT: 15%
Caltech: 20%
Princeton: 15%
Yale: 15%
Stanford: 15%
Columbia: 60%
UPenn: 60%
University of Toronto: 99%+

Columbia 60? Chances at cornell and duke equal? naaahhhh

But I would expect to get accepted into at least 2 of those on that list.

I don't think HYRS is that prestigious, eh? I also never new that the extended essay is considered research experience. But you DO go to that Edmonton school.... Godly average. Good luck. I go to school number 11 in Alberta btw.

Haha, fellow Albertan. nice to meet you =)

Thanks for your comment. I thought/hoped that HYRS would be considered prestigious, but I guess colleges in America wouldn't know that. haha. Also, I realize that maybe I shouldn't put my extended essay as one of the research experiences because the adcoms know all the full IB diploma candidates must do an extended essay and thus research for their topic. Well, I wish you best of luck in the admission process as well.

Any one else with comments / suggestions/ etc. for me? :) It'd be greatly appreciated.

Duke: 60%+
Cornell: 80%+
Harvard: 10%
MIT: 20%
Caltech: 20%
Princeton: 10%
Yale: 10%
Stanford: 10%
Columbia: 50%
UPenn: 70%
University of Toronto: 1562%+

Thank you for your reply, datadriven. The 1562%+ for U of T really makes me feel secure =P.

Others, please give me more feedbacks!

bump .

really like science and math, eh?
i think u have a good chance at cornell and duke, prettyy good at columbia
upenn- decent chance, its not to be underestimated, esp. wharton
idk about hpys cuz ur from canada...so i cant judge..
but id say aim for a little lower

oh, and u say ur a s. korea citizen? does that help in the app process?
b/c im not a us citizen either..tho i could become one..should i switch or not?

Thanks for your comment, harvard2727.

To answer your question, no, being a south korean citizen does not help me in the app process. In fact, it lowers my chances significantly because there are simply too many amazing international students fighting for the limited number of spots. So if I were you, I'd get the US citizenship now.

Anyone else would like to give me feedbacks?

bump .
