SATII: not taken yet but taking US history, biology, and math

i dont know how well i write essays, ive been told my biographies are pretty good.

So whats my chances in anywhere? I really want to go to a combined medical program..preferabbly UCSD's. Do you think i can make it to UCLA or UCB or will i have to rely on interviews to get into schools and apply to eastcoast. (im in southern california by the way).

Thank you for responding or reading this mess.. i'm really worried for my life because ive been trying to get ready for college since 8th grade, and now i feel like im screwed cause of SATs.

Get your SATs above 2200 and the sky's the limit.

i really doubt i can.. im just an extremely bad test taker.. lets say i can narrow down all my answers to 2.. and i'll most likely pick the wrong one :(

if i cant.. lets say i get 2000 at highest.. will i have to go to a school that does interviews to get into somewhere good? cause i think i have alot of personality.

Not necessarily. A 2000 is a decent score. You certainly won't be a shoe-in at UCLA and UC-Berkeley, but you will still have a decent chance.

thats very depressing.. i really wanted to get into a BA/MD program...
i really hate how much SATs affect your chances anywhere.

woopsie i made a mistake.. junior year im taking chinese III not retaking chinese II

tinaaaw:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach

You have plenty of time to improve your SATs. Do that, and the sky is indeed the limit. Shoot for the best.

I hope you practice really hard and change that attitude around. You're a fabulous student, so I know you have the potential to get a great SAT score.

I can relate though. I studied all the 3500 words for the old SAT, I knew every.single.one of them and I know at least 80% to this day, years later, and I still couldn't get my verbal above 650. I did end up having 1 mistake on analogies and 1 omitted on sentence completion but I was just too scattered (and foreign :P) and always had RC questions that I couldn't get to. Everything else is 4.0s, and 780+ though. Sometimes SAT is just not your friend but I can say this - there is no way that with hard work you wont be able to do at least 650+650+700(M). You have to. Take months to study but do it.
