Hi! I'm interest in applying Early Decision for the 2014-2015 school year! I don't really know where to start... But here's a little bit about me:
Sports: cheering (2 year varsity, captain one year), track (2 year varsity), lacrosse (3 year varsity)
Clubs: beta, key club, Spanish club, SADD club, FEA, Big Brother/Sister (freshmen helpers), and another community service club!
Positions: I have a part time job, Opinions editor of the school newspaper, President of SADD, VP of Spanish
Grades: I take a pretty hard course load, but I don't drown myself in schoolwork! My school is pretty competitive, so with a 4.1 GPA (9th and 10th grade) and it should go up after this year! I am 85 out of 366 students.
My SAT is a 1750 (reading: 580 math: 530 writing:640)
I am hoping for a 28 or higher on the ACT. I have taken the SAT twice and scored the same in math, so I'll probably take it again in the fall! And hopefully only take the ACT twice.

Additionally, I have roughly 120 hours of community service. Elon has been my #1 since I received a catalog in the mail my sophomore year also, I want to major in Chemistry!

Hi! Wow its so weird hearing from someone who actually wants to go to Elon! Let me explain, I have lived in Elon, NC my whole life. The campus is about .4 or .5 miles from my house so I am VERY familiar with the school and I have a pretty biased outlook on it so I won’t share my personal opinion on it…lol.

Anyways, I think you have a decent chance of getting in. You are about average I would say for the SAT but closer to the 30th percentile. I would aim for around 1830 to be safe…a 28 on the ACT would put you at a match for sure. Your extracurriculars are good (funny, I’m also the president of my SADD club and VP of Spanish!) . I would put you at a match for this school.

Just some words of wisdom from someone who lives here:
–I don’t know where you are from, but Elon students tend to annoy us southerner’s for a couple of reasons. Elon is a town, not a city and we like it that way. Most Elon students are from the NE area and can annoy us because of their driving, rudeness (wow, I’m being super judgmental…sorry), and lack of respect for our “culture”.
–Like at every college, Elon is full of smart people and…not so smart people. Please be a smart person.
–Most kids here are rich. Enough said. You’ll see nice cars, and very nicely dressed people…equipped with a NJ accent.
–Elon is extremely white. Again, Enough said.
–Elon is also very preppy

If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I know a lot about the surrounding area, professors, and students.

I’m from VA, not too far!! Thank you!! I have a question about their science department!! Do you think majoring in chemistry is a good choice there considering the class size??
