What are my chances to get into UIUC?

GPA: 4.3 Weighted

Mostly A’s, some A-'s here and there (in English classes mostly lol)

SAT: 1570/1600 (Essay 18/24) ACT: 35/36 (Essay 28/38)

As you can see my English isn’t my strong point haha

EC’s: effectively nonexistent (some clubs, 1 JV sport, marching band but never made leadership, a part time job)

AP Classes: APUSH, Chem, Bio, Lang, Calc BC, Gov (All 5’s on the test)

Senior Year: Dual enrollment. Taking Business Writing (just because) Multivariable Calculus (comes after BC) and Intro to Physics (because why not)

Awards: Nothing much really, I made National Merit Semifinalist so that’s something I guess

Race: Asian (hurts me)

SAT Subject Tests: Chem (760) Bio (800) APUSH (800) Math II (800)

What I want to apply to:
1st Choice: Computer Science (because I think it’s cool)
2nd Choice: Materials Engineering (because UIUC is good at it apparently)

Chances?

UIUC is a safety school for you… why are you even asking this?

Actually UIUC is not a safety for you. You have solid test scores, but UIUC Computer Science has something around a 7% acceptance rate, so they probably would like to see more extracurriculars/awards out of a person like you. Nevertheless, you still have a good chance.

Yeah I heard their CS program is pretty good. I guess no hurt in applying.
