Harvard accepted under 5% of applicants this year. While you appear to be qualified you must regard it as a big reach. There is not enough room for the school to accept all of the outstanding applicants.

I’d focus your attention on creating a solid college list that includes reach (including Harvard and other top tier schools), match, and safety schools that appear affordable (find out your parents’ budget and run the net price calculator for each school) and that you would be excited to attend. The people I see who get hurt by the college admission process are the ones who focus on one or two hyper-competitive schools and then don’t get in. Expand your horizons and recognize that there are many wonderful schools out there where you can have a great 4 year experience and get where you want to go in life.

Thank you very much for your valuable advice!

Congrats on your NSLI-Y acceptance! This will really help with your apps. You look like a solid applicant, but you will need to have a good balanced list. Harvard is a long shot for even the most accomplished students.

Your stats put you in the running. It’s still a long shot just because of the numbers, so like others are saying, have some other schools you can love. Good luck!

Are you a good enough soccer player to be consider for Div 1 recruitment? If so, contacting the coaches and discussing recruitment would be the strong hook that might make it slightly easier getting in.
