What are my chances to Michigan State University?

Hi Everybody!

From what I read on MSU's admissions website, MSU recalculates GPA with just core classes. If that's the case, will I get in with a recalculated GPA?

Thank you all so much!!
I apologize for the lengthy post, I wanted to be thorough.
I know I do not have any extra curriculars beside swim and work, as well as the downward GPA trend, but MSU is my dream school.
Should I ask my coach for a letter of recommendation or should I stick with teachers?
Is there a chance or a glimmer of hope? Should I even bother applying?

Thanks!

I think to have an OK shot you need to raise your ACT by 3 points. That’ll make you in the middle 50 percentile. Btw, are you instate? That helps substantially if you are. It can be tought to balance a sport with school and work and colleges will recognize that. Even if you can’t raise your ACT to a 24 I’d definitely still apply.
