What are my chances to these colleges?

Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to this whole College Confidential forum thing. But I was wondering what my chances are in getting into the following schools: Columbia, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Cooper Union, U. Chicago, U. Penn., UCLA, U. Mich., and Boston U. I know these are relatively hard to gain acceptance to but I would like to hear opinions from those of you who know what happens during the entire college application process.

As a freshman I was on my school's debate team as well as math team. I also participated in our schools Key Club. Later on in sophomore year I volunteered for two political campaigns as a Chinese-English translator for the Senator of New York as well as an intern for a congressional campaign. In sophomore year I was also in the school math team, however because my junior year schedule became overly crazy, I was not able to continue. As a junior, I currently work as a volunteer for the New York Botanical Garden as a children's educator and at the American Museum of Natural History. I conduct research with a mentor in the area of DNA barcoding and I hope a 3.8 GPA. I also participate in a Google Business competition program where I create my own business plan and I am my group's CEO.

As of hobbies, I play sports such as swimming and track and I also play four instruments which are the piano, violin, clarinet, and flute. I have a passion in learning languages, so I've had instruction in Latin, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. I know HTML programming and CSS. Through my research program, I also learn to use PERL.

I took my SAT without any prep at all for the first time and received only a 1960 and hopefully I can get that grade to go up by the next time I take the exam. I have taken many classes that are at least at the school's honors level. I also take AP classes which are as follows: AP World, AP US History, AP Physics C, and AP Chemistry. I already have confirmed that next year I will take AP Microeconomics, AP Biology, Post AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, as well as AP Chinese.

I know this is a lot of reading and for all of you who took your time to read this, thank you so much. I look forward to hearing from everyone.
