<p>im looking at Vanderbilt (probably ED) , Wake, Richmond, Elon, Colgate, Bucknell, UVA</p>

<p>I am a rising senior at a very strong public high school in New Jersey</p>

<p>GPA: 4.42 W ~8 out of about 220</p>

<p>SAT I : 2070 m:730 cr:620 w:720 (im taking them again M and CR will hopefully go up)</p>

<p>SAT II: US History: 750 Math II: 740 Physics: 750</p>

<p>Junior Year: AP Stat, APUSH, AP Physics (all 4s)
Senior: AP Psychology, AP Gov, AP Lit, and AP Calc </p>

<p>ECs: officer in Key Club, co-president/ co-founder of Special Olympics Club, HS soccer, golf, winter track, principals council, freshman orientation, peer group connections, NHS (officer), FLHS, Harvard Model Congress, American Leigon Boys State, People to People trip to Europe, Outward Bound to Costa Rica</p>

<p>Recommendations should be pretty strong, so should my essay.</p>

<p>I think your chance of UVA is realllllly good:)
Better than mine at least…
you have amazing SAT scores and other activities…
but then you do live outside of VA so you have more competition…than those living in VA.

<p>You are a very strong candidate for all those schools-I am most familiar with Wake Forest, Bucknell, Colgate- I think you have an excellent chance at all of them. Just make sure your essay makes the case for each one as an individual school and don’t take anything for granted. Schools don’t want to accept “safety” people, they want to accept the people that are most likely to go…</p>

<p>Good SAT and GPA, and those schools are within range for sure. I don’t know enough about the schools to give you definitive answers but I would believe your chances are solid to most colleges.</p>

<p>vandy-high match/low reach. for vandy your scores are a bit on the lower side (although they’re very good!) with ED you have a good shot.

<p>Interestingly enough I don’t think you will get into Elon unless you can tell them that you understand what makes Elon different and hopefully visit. They will love your EC’s and (and you will love them), so show them who you are beyond SAT/GPA, and you should be fine. If you just “submit an application” you will likely be denied or waitlisted because they know they are different and don’t want to be anyones safety school…</p>

<p>Might look at Holy Cross-good combination of academics and sports with nice campus-1 hour from Boston.</p>

<p>my brother is a sophmore at elon, so that will probably help me significantly, and ive been down to visit, and met the regional counselor and stuff, but we’ll see. and i did look briefly at holy cross - i might go back, but it just wasnt the best for me</p>

<p>Glad you have had contact with Elon. If you are truely interested I would recommend applying EA. Most people who know Elon, know they want to go to Elon… So by the time ED and EA deadlines are done it’s much harder…</p>

<p>we’re basically applying to the same schools! I’d say you’re definately in for bucknell, richmond, and elon; probably in for colgate and wake; probably in for vanderbilt ed. At least for my school, I know that UVA is wayyyy hard to get into (i live in new york) but you have a fair shot.</p>
