FORTHCOMING
As you can tell, my sophomore year was very unique. I attended Gateway Academy, which is an RTC (Residential Treatment Center). I went there to learn how to cope with my depression and anxiety (runs in the family). Just letting you know!

Your will not be penalized for not having AP courses at your HS but it will impact your UC GPA since only AP and IB courses are weighted in the calculation. So what is your UW 10-11th grade GPA? Intended major?
"Taking the following courses will prepare you to major in sociology at any UC campus.
Expected coursework
Introduction to sociology 1
Introduction to sociology 2 (typically “social problems”)
Statistics for sociology majors
Sociological research methods
Use ASSIST to find the specific classes offered at your community college that will satisfy the expected coursework. In addition to the specific coursework above, you will need to fulfill minimum requirements expected of all transfer applicants to UC."
Will taking these classes at a local community college boost my chances?
The expected coursework you are citing above is for community college students who want to transfer to a UC for junior year of college. It’s not expected that high school students have taken those courses.
You need to complete the a-g course requirements required for UC admission. To be a competitive applicant, you want to have above and beyond the minimums listed.

Thank you so much for the clarification! @CAtransplant
In general, is there anything I should do at local CCs to get one step ahead? For example, I am considered “on-level” for Mathematics because Algebra 2 is the math class that an average 11th grader takes. Should I go to CC over the summer to take Precalculus so when I return to school for my senior year I can be one year ahead and take Calculus?
@DTaylor91 you could - but I’m guessing you have to register for next year’s classes fairly soon? I just wonder will your high school allow you to register for Calculus without knowing that you’ve taken Pre-calc?
I think if I am still able to enroll in Pre-calc at a local CC then my high school will be willing to work with me. We have to register for next year’s by the end of this summer, so, all in all, I think I’ll be fine.
Your post 10. Pretty sure it would be quite easy for someone to identify you on that. You may want to ask a mod to delete some of the identifying info.
Also do you think your boss is comfortable with you spreading his name over the net in this context? What would his reaction be if a bunch of people call him asking him for jobs or something using the information you’ve provided here?
Describe things in general terms without naming names etc.
