What are my chances: Wesleyan Uni

William and Mary is my top school but as it's hard to get into if you're OOS .. Well, I can't just focus on that hahah. So this is another one of my schools ..

First, the basic info.
I'm an out-of-state female from a small New Jersey town. Only one of my parents went to college, at Lafayette. We're middle class. I'm white and have no religous affiliation (except perhaps with that of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!). Only one person from my high school (a tri-district school) has gone to W+M, and no one from my town has.

SATs:
700 V, 560 M (taking them again in the fall to try for at least 600), 710 W

SAT IIs:
Planning on taking the US History, Math I, and Literature ones in the fall.

School Extracurriculars:
Swim team, poetry club, academic challenge, volunteer organization, school newspaper, stage crew, vinyl club, NHS

Outside School Extracurriculars:
I work 20+ hours a week at Petsmart, and volunteer for a local animal shelter.

School Stats:
My school hasn't updated our stats since sophomore year and I'm a senior now. So when I was a sophomore, I was 35/180, but I also had about a 3.5 GPA for those two years. My junior year, I averaged a 3.9+. So I'm not sure what I am now but I'm pretty sure my rank has moved up to at least top 20.

Honors/AP:
Freshman year - Honors English, Honors World History, Honors Geometry, Honors Biology
Sophomore year - Honors English II, Honors US History I
Junior year - AP US History, Honors English III

Schedules:
Freshman - Honors English, Honors Geometry, Honors Biology, ICP-II (advanced computer class, we had to test for it), Computer Graphics I and II, Honors World History
Sophomore - Chemistry, Spanish II, Honors US History I, Honors English II, Creative Writing, Journalism, Algebra II and Trig
Junior - French I, Precalculus, Political Science, Microbiology/Environmental Issues (counts as a full year lab science), AP US History, Honors English, Theatre Arts I

My schedule for next year is:
AP English, Statistics, 20th Century Music, Guitar, Marine Biology, Contemporary Issues, American Wars, French II, Single Survival, Theatre Arts II

My school only offers 6 AP courses and most of them are math/science ones that I am not interested and I'm not about to take an AP course for a class I don't want to take, y'know?

I plan on visiting Wes, having a tour, and getting an interview.

Your stats and all are good, but Wesleyan is still a reach, as it is for most people.

Try taking the ACT.

nysmile: Those SAT scores are excellent, except for math.

Yes, the SAT scores are very good (math is OK-average). Many kids do even better on the ACT test. I suggested it because this poster may do better on the ACT math and because of the strong verbal/CR aptitude, chances are that this student's composite score will be very strong. I'm of the belief that it's best to take both the SAT and ACT tests because some students do better on one style test as opposed to the other.
