What are my chances with a 2.5 gpa

I know I should of taken my high school life more seriously and focus on my grades and work more then my social life, but I didn't. I am now a senior, and my gpa from fresh-junior year is about a 2.4/2.5. In almost all my classes I always knew the material, and always had high B's to low-mid A's on tests, I just never did any of the busy and classwork. I took hard classes too, junior year I took accelerated pre-calculus, accelerated chem 1, physics 1, physics 2 etc etc always took the accelerated classes. My sat's aren't special either, got a 1250 on them. I have a very good recommendation letter though
Now my question is do I really have a chance to go anywhere good? Or am I screwed? I really want to apply to temple, but don't know what my chances would be.
I'm praying I will get a scholarship to play D1 soccer for a good school, because I don't know if I have any other chance.. Please try to give me some good news but be realistic :) thanks!!

If you are a superb athlete and you are D1 material, your grades wouldn’t matter too much. I’m not too sure about if you’re just an above average athlete…

Yea ik, but I would like to know if I don’t go for soccer what would my chances be

@vucinic9 Consider state schools.

A 2.5 GPA doesn’t open up a lot of opportunities.

You are pretty limited with your grades and test scores. If you are a senior than a D1 scholarship is probably not in the works either as it is pretty late for that. Why not look at a community college with a good soccer program? You would have a chance to turn things around with your grades and hone your soccer skills, and then apply to better schools as a junior. Playing soccer at a D1 school is a tough job as far as balancing soccer and academics. Most coaches won’t want to take a chance on someone who had a hard time in high school with grades.

I really want to stay away from community college, but i’m praying that ill get accepted to temple

Hey bud, I was crying when I got rejected to MSU, but I didn’t give up my hopes. I’m going to a community college and I love it getting good grades etc. I will be applying to MSU And Penn State!!
