Hello I am currently a junior who is DYING to go to USC or UCLA and wanting to study Communications, but I was wondering what my chances would be.
My ACT score is a 32 with English: 34, Math: 30, Reading: 32, and Science: 30.
While my ACT scores are pretty good, my gpa is the problem… I currently have an unweighted gpa of 3.7-3.8 (I am unsure of the weighted) so I am workin hard on pulling that up.
EC:
- 6 years in marching band and 2 years as the band captain + section leader + social chair.
- 3 years in UNICEF club and also a secretary
- over 100+ hours in community service (10 hours per year is required at my school)
- consecutive mission trips to Ecuador for 3 years
- Service work to Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt, and 2 years in Indonesia
- Can fluently speak, write, read, and translate Korean
- Currently learning Arabic
- served at a refugee community by tutoring since I was in 7th grade
- In National Honor’s society (NHS)
- In Beta Club
I also go to a private Christian school and I am Asian. I will be taking 4-5 AP’s during my high school year due to my school’s restriction ( can’t take AP during freshman year, only one in sophomore year, limited spots, catered towards seniors, and based on your PSAT score) but I am in a couple honor’s courses and take challenging CP courses. I will also not be eligible for any financial aid so I’m pretty sure colleges will like that. I am also not an in-state student… so what do you guys think will be my chances? Be frank and tell me the truth please and thank you!
