Hi Guys,
I took the SAT on June 6 this year and got a 2170 (CR: 650, M: 730, W: 790).
What do you think of this score? What types of colleges do I stand a chance to get into with it?
I was planning on retaking it in November, do you think that’s a wise decision?
Please help me!! Thanks!
Great score! It depends on what colleges you want to apply to though. If you are looking at very selective schools, like Ivy League or Top 10/15, then you may want to reconsider taking it for a 2200+ or a 2250+. However, SAT scores aren’t the only thing that matter and if you have a very high GPA, you should be fine! It’s up to you in the end.
This is a real good score and is probably good enough for schools such as UNC (Chapel hill), UVA, Boston University, Northeastern, several UC schools… However, it is still possible to be deferred from any of these schools if your SAT score is the only thing you have going for you. Honestly, I see this score as really good and probably wouldn’t take the test again as studying is time consuming and you could spend that time working on your academics or extra activities/ sports instead.
Eh your critical reading score is low for all of the ivies and other top colleges. Definitely retake the SAT to raise your reading score to a 700+.
I agree that’s one of the main reasons I wanted to retake it. Thanks for your help!! @isl4ndsurf3r
