thanks.

You're in dude. You're the typical Berkeley acceptee. Most of your stats are well within Berkeley's range.

as ubermensch said you ARE the typical guy
i would not say you're in because they are loads of people applying to UCB and if they all look the same like you then UCB might decide to raise the par
anywho, you're not special so you'll have to prove it in your essays and make sure yo narrow down your interests and kinda have a weaving thing going (i.e. i like politics so i'm part of the young dems of spokane county, i'm in debate, i'm in mock trial, and i'm part of the youth council of spokane - all these thigns can at some point relate)
also, your SAT I is just at tfe average, only a little above

basically what im saying is you're not a competitive applicant but you do look like you've got a shot
a little better than 50/50 i'd say
maybe 65/35 :)

good luck my man

thanks anymore opinions?

Are you a resident of CA.

If so, I would say 90% in.

yes I am a resident of California

Average SAT Score (one sitting) for East Asian acceptees are 1420-1450 ish if I remember correctly. So best verbal + best math would fall into the 1470-1500 range for average. For some reason, I never met an Asian American who scored lower than 1450 on their SAT the entire time I was there. Yeah, I wouldn't be so conscious of it, but its the females that love finding out guy SAT scores...

I would say that if you are in LA or Bay Area, a densely populated area, you have a 50/50 chance at best. Probably If you are in central california, 65% chance at best. You're slightly lower SAT may be offset by your good class standing and extracurriculars. It may come down to your essay and what sort of life experiences motivate you etc...

don't the UC's take into consideration the SAT II twice as much as the SAT I?

Your ranking and SAT scores seem a bit low. Like West Side said, the average SAT scores for Asian students are probably a bit higher. Last year the only four people who were accepted to Berkeley from my high school were the top four graduates. And none of us decided to go to Berkeley, so sadly no one from my high school went to Berkeley last year. The salutatorian was Chinese/Cambodian, got around 1300 on her SAT's, and didn't have that many extracurricular activities but got accepted to Berkeley & Stanford (but was rejected from UCLA)...so you should have an okay chance. Best of luck! :)

ok thanks for the opinions

so..my stats are really similar to his..BUT im out of state. so no chance for me eh?

u still have a chance, but its gonna be harder

can u explain your total gpa vs UC gpa plz? normally, the UC gpa seems to be higher

good chance

haha your stats are like a replica of mine. we better get in!

Did you say your UC GPA is a 3.96??

I always thought Berkeley's average GPA was a 4.2

It's below average. But scores and EC's can balance that out. My GPA was below average for USC but I still got in as a finalist for a half-tution scholarship.

bump bump bump bump?

Hey Diablo: What's your number one? Cal or UCLA?

UCLA cuz im from southern cal, but berkeley is close behind
