<p>would think you have a great chance of getting in. 18 out of 576, that's strong. and your male, which doesn't hurt as colleges try to keep close to the ol 50/50 and maybe cheating towards males with slightly lower GPA/test scores than the ladies. unless, you are a female wrestler. </p>
<p>SC also does the spring admit thing. they park 200 - 250 people and let them in in January. son went that route two years ago. he loves it. he had 4.2, 1280 SAT, and pretty much ZERO ECs. at that time, the school just started getting tougher to get into, and football success probably has increased apps as general rep is that SC is "cool." </p>
<p>i know of many kids who grew up here in LA, went to quality universities out of state, then wanting to come back to SC due to growing status as a much better academic school than in past years.</p>
