I have applied to Yale Early, I am an International

What do u think?

r u @ Bermun right now? Meaning did you just finished attending it yesterday?

okey my english is a little -lot- skewed here. Simply put, were you @ Bermun?

Your SATs will hurt alot. Are you retaking it in December for RD?

Your SAT IIs - it's weird that you can't score full marks on the Math tests considering your achievements in Math. Internationals are sadly put to higher standards.

Otherwise, your stats are pretty amazing - they know that international science olympiad medals are phenomenal.

which country are you from by the way? that matters too.

Chances are ok, I think you might also want to definitely consider applying other places, esp. as an international

SAT's are weak...(for yale scea, anyway)

What's your nationality?

Yale may care about that if you are from a underrepresented country.

What's "National Mathematical Olympiad Qualifier"? Is that USAMO?

Strange that an AIME qualifier has a 730 SAT I math.

And the SAT II is too low. I rarely see people do not get perfect score on SAT II Math IIC.

NEW SAT I scores

CR 700
M 770
Wr 690

I am an international and in my country, testing is totally different than the SATs. So although I know Math really good, it's not so easy to get a good sat score. It's a different educational philosophy.

Anyway, my SAT I scores are inside the Yale's middle 50%, aren't they?
And Yale says, that they pay mostly attention to the transcript.

And, u know, do not always trust what people post on CC. Most of the scores are untrue

Mine are 100% original!! LOL

I didn't participate in Bermun.

"most of the scores are untrue"
lol. that's a funny comment. don't know why. i'd say >95% of the time they're true
anyway, what country? I think you certainly have chance with your EC's

Why would someone start a chance thread with made-up scores? I think they all want to evaluate their REAL chance of admission. It isn't surprising that CC people are among top-scorers since they are the ones who actually CARE about their scores.

Some people make up scores, and I'm just roughly guessing that more than 5% do it, but I doubt that you can say "a lot" of the scores are made up. I think a lot of the high scores are real.

Unfortunately, the international applicant pool is very strong. Yale might say they don't look too much at the SAT, but I don't see how that's true. Maybe it's because so many of their applicants already have near-perfect scores, but 2160 is definitely low for Yale. Everyone I know who made it into Yale has really amazing stats.

Everyone "you" know amb3r. But I'm sure there a quite a few who aren't even within the median. Of course I'm not saying they're bums, maybe there is something else in their app that stands out. Four year transcript of an applicant remains the most important part of the application to Yale. That is what they say on their website.
Having said that the International and the National applicant pool, guessing from stats here, is really amazing and the competition is cut throat.
You indeed are within the median scrooge. Goodluck everyone!

The new score seems pretty good, and you are more competitive at least.

Good Luck!

thx
anyway people that I know that got admitted to HYPS had almost scores like mine. even lower.
i can say that for international students, its pretty rare to have stellar SAT scores..anyway, this is what I have noticed talking with people from my country.

P.S. Again I still believe that not a lot but lets say 50% of the profiles in the CC are untrue.

i had a 2160 and made it into yale without any hooks. plus i'm asian--the antihook.

(but 2200 superscored)
