Just applied for regular decision on Wednesday...

OOS, 3.56 weighted GPA, 1810 SAT (530-610-670), 1 recommendation letter, strong application essay (or so I've been told), 2 high school sports, 2 recreational/out of school sports...

Also, can anyone tell me how strong the Journalism program here is, and what internships are like? Any chance of becoming a sports journalist?

someone on another thread with worse stats than you got in… i think you have a good chance. probably right on the border but still a good chance. im very similar but im in state. good luck!

Thanks for the input, man…I’m really hopeful!!!

Seriously, no joking! You probabaly can get in.
I got in with WGPA 3.6+ and sat 1760.
But I think my hook is that I was not even able to read what I am writing now. (I am immigrant, lol) And my GPA jumped from 3.3 to 3.9. I guess these are what got me in.
Good luck!!!

Thanks for the wishes, and congrats to you!

Anyone else get in with similar credentials?

Lower than average chance.

Thanks.

Anything I can do to increase it? Would a teacher recommendation be worth it? (I currently have 1 from my guidance counselor that probably doesn’t hold much weight.)

The only thing that might have helped is higher SAT scores. UConn does not consider your writing score. Your GPA is good. If you can get a very good recommendation, it certainly won’t hurt.
