I have wanted to go to Berkeley for some time now, but I don't know how I compare with others who have been admitted already. I sent in my application this November and I would like to know what you think my chances are.

looks good. I expect you to be admitted but berkeley is really competitive so you never know. Hope your personal statement was strong too. I’m applied in november too and 3/24 can’t come soon enough…:)

Good luck! :] Personally, I’m dying for letters to come out. Oh, couple of things to add though:
National Achievement Scholar
330 hours of community service

Your SAT II scores definitely need some work, especially if you’re applying for BioE. Your AP scores are indicative of some academic deficiencies, but they don’t see AP scores during the admissions process. I’m not sure I’d say Berkeley is a reach, but BioE is a reach.

Except for your test scores, your application seems pretty good. Engineering is especially competitive though, and I don’t think those numbers would cut it in the engineering applicant pool.

wait a minute, on our applications we have to put down what we scored on AP tests…shouldnt they be able to see these scores if we put them down in our application? otherwise, the fact they allow you to put down your score is pointless

Basically, what you enter on your app is based on academic integrity. If they accept you and you accept them (aka you’re going to enroll at that university), you will need to send proof of your AP scores from CollegeBoard.

Biologeek, we have virtually the same stats (4.3 weighted, 2280 SAT, etc) although I have slightly higher SAT 2’s while you have more EC’s, and we’re both for BioE. Anyway, check out [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/default.aspx). For engineering as a whole, people with my stats (and I’m assuming we have similar UC GPAs) have 48% admittance rate, so its basically 50/50 for me. Becuase we have such similar stats, I’d guess you have something close to that as well. Good luck!

Thank you for all of the responses! I know my test scores, especially math 2, are really weak, but I applied just to see what would happen. Not crazy worried though because there are a couple of pretty strong schools that I get into automatically because of ELC status.

What would be considered SAT/ACT scores that would be on par with my major?

Absolutely not. :]
Over the months between when I started the thread and now, I’ve pretty much decided that UCSD is probably the best choice for me, but I’d still like to be accepted. I just love the Berkeley campus, the rigor and its proximity to San Francisco, but after being rejected from UCLA, I’m pretty sure rejection is imminent.
