US History

ECs:

mission trip to New Orleans
Church youth group

Key Club

What else should I do?

You have a short but sweet list of ec’s. If you want to shine, take cheerleading even more seriously; basically, partake in state or national competitions, and maybe teach little girls at your church or local community center or elementary school to cheer. Maybe even make some cash? =)

thanks so much for the response so quickly! And your reply even reminded me of some things I forgot to mention:
NCA (national cheerleaders association) All American Team
participated in Christmas Day Disney Parade for NCA All Am.
ran school sponsored “Booster’s” club for cheerleading (3 years)
helped run a Fall Fair for kids at church
community service

what are my chances for UVA and Elon?

I think UVA will be a mid to low-reach. It’s not just because of SAT scores and grades, but also that UVA has to reserve 66% of its class to Virginian students. Your stats are similar to mine and we have about the same number of EC’s. If you really showcase your love for cheerleading through your college application that will be a plus. Also, if you dance as well, send in an art supplement form too. :)

I don’t know about Elon.
UVA- reach
Delaware- high match

Thanks! Yeah I’m going to apply to UVA even though it is a reach. Never hurts to try!

I can only talk about one of the colleges, that’s UVA. I’d say it’s a mid reach, but you’ll get in if you write stellar essays and receive good recs.
