Interested in Delaware.
Currently ranked in top 10% of my class sporting a 4.1 GPA. SAT in the high 1400s and a 22 composite score on the ACT. Heavily involved in extra curriculars: President of multiple clubs, involved in multiple honor societies, etc. Out of state candidate. WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?

Do you have a particular major in mind? Certain majors at UD (chemical engineering, nursing and several others) are extremely competitive for admission.

need a higher ACT or SAT for Del

Is business a competitive major?

Business is not as competitive a major to get into as compared to the ones I mentioned. Unlike most other high quality major universities UD does put a higher emphasis on HS course rigor/grades, GPA, and class rank as compared to SAT/ACT scores (but they are not irrelevant), so at least this aspect appears to be in your favor (assuming your course work has included honors/AP classes). I would suggest, if you are really interested in going to UD, that you could really increase your chances if you would take a ACT/SAT Prep course and try to raise your ACT scores by at least 2-3 points and/or increase your SAT score by 100-150 points. If you could achieve either of these I believe your chances of getting into UD would be reasonably good. I am assuming that you are an OOS student. If you are a Delaware resident then you probably would get accepted with your current SAT/ACT scores with little problem. Best of luck to you.

Try to get that SAT score up. It’s getting tougher to gain admission to UD, and I think the average SAT score is around a 1600 now (Math + Crit. Reading + writing).
