<p>You will most likely get into all of the UC schools( UCB is kinda a reach for all though ). I think you can get into NYU. USC and Cornell are kinda a match. Some Ivys to consider are UPenn. Have you also considered GeorgiaTech, University of Illinois, or CMU?</p>
<p>to be frank, i feel like taking JAVA one year and AP Comp Sci the next is a bit redundant. </p>
<p>anyway. i’m going to go out on a limb and say you have a pretty good shot at the lower UCs. for USC, NYU, cornell and the upper UCs you’re a bit lower than the average applicant. i’d say push your SAT I up, and absolutly destroy the SAT IIs. </p>
<p>your volunteer work is extremely impressive; however, your extracurriculars aren’t as fantastic. while it is a huge accomplishment to be a runner for 6 years (god knows i couldn’t do that for the life of me), it doesn’t really serve as a WOW factor to most adcoms.</p>
<p>Your EC’s are very solid, with a good GPA (except for sophomore year but nice recovery junior year). Your SAT is your “soft spot” for the more selective schools on your list as well as your “sophomore year decline”:</p>

AP Comp Sci is one step above JAVA, and that is the order students at my school take it and how teachers want us to take it.</p>
<p>It will be 7 years upon completion of senior year, and this upcoming season I am training to make the state championships which is extremely difficult. Does that help in any way?
Only around 30 people per region/section/league (whatever you want to call it - each Section has around 22 schools) get into states.</p>
<p>well, it will definitly help if you get into state competitions. if you’re an extremely high-caliber runner, you should think about recruitment into some of your higher matches and reaches. </p>
<p>being an indian male hurts you at any college that practices affirmitive action. i’m an indian male too. it sucks.</p>
<p>ELC stands for “Eligibility in the local context” and applies to California residents only who are in the top 9% of their high school class. Last year, the cut-off was the top 4%, but they extended it to now include the top 9%. They will give you auto-acceptance into a UC as long as certain conditions are met. Here’s a link for you, but it may be too late to apply now. Contact your Guidance Counselor ASAP: </p>

<p>Seems like you should be more than good for all the UCs, granted UCB is always a tough school, but being in state I’d think you’d be fine. USC and NYU I’d also see as matches. Only real weakness I see is the slight lack of APs, but as long as you have taken a fairly rigorous course load for your school you should be good. Cornell I’d see as a low reach being an Ivy, but with your stats it seems like it’d be worth your time to apply to stanford and maybe HY or P, if even just for the hell of it.</p>
<p>UCB is a reach, I’d say that UCLA is closer to a reach than a match. The rest are matches or safeties. NYU is a match, Cornell and the rest of the ivies are definite reaches.</p>
<p>I think you’re qualified to get in most if not all UC’s, maybe even a few Ivies. Apply for Cornell, UPenn, Stanford, etc just for the heck of it.
Seeing people listing their experience with athletics makes me wish I was… well… more athletic. It makes an excellent EC to list… <em>sigh</em></p>
