What are my chances?

…To BU Engineering?

GPA: 3.54/4.00 or 91/100
SAT: M 630 V 670 W 680 (1980 combined)
RANK: 102/437 (top quarter…blech), but it’s in a competitive public school
HONORS/GIFTED: 13 AP: 9

EXTRACURRICULARS:

Red Cross Club (first year club has existed…founding member)
Model UN (2 years)
Interact Club (4 years)
Church Volunteering (10 years)

3.54 = 88 not a 91...

Transcript says 3.54/91, so that's what I went by....Princeton Review concurs 3.5 equal to 90

<a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/advSearch/GPAConversionWindow.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/advSearch/GPAConversionWindow.asp</a></p>

That'll probably go up as I have 3 95+, 1 85, and 2 90s right now...probably be up to like a 3.6 at least by midterm reports.

You have a good chance - I'm applying there as well and I have lower SAT scores, but according to my school's stats, kids with lower stats than yours and mine have gotten in. And not just a few, but probably close to 15. I'm not sure if its because my school is good and is known by their adcom, or what. GL though.

Whew, thanks...

What I'm probably more concerned about is financial aid... Sure, getting into a $45,000 university is one thing, but paying for it seems a lot more difficult now that it seems I have a chance!

shameless bumping

C'mon, over 100 views and replies by one distinct person...

I think if you get a 2000 SAT and win some awards and have better ECs , you're in. Right now you seem okay but you know just to make sure.. cause your ECs are really weak, "church volunteering" is really broad & vague

im applying to engineering too, if ur female that might boost ur chances too

No such luck...blasted father's Y chromosome made me male...

Make that a 3.6 GPA

and I forgot some ECs

1st in State/ 3rd in Nation National Geography Challenge

'Church voluteering' = started off doing menial tasks, then became cashier of the kitchen, then started substituting for the manager when he wasn't around.
