What Are My Chances?

What are my chances for Swarthmore, Hamilton College, Brown, Cornell and Amherst?

GPA:
Weighted 4.11
Unweighted 3.68

SAT:
Reading: 720
Writing: 670
Math: 570

I will have my AA when I graduate, but am willing to do the full 4 years at any one of these colleges if I got in. I have a 4.0 in my college classes and expect to keep that up for a total of 63 credit hours or 21 classes. I am in the honors society at the college (Phi Theta Kappa).

My class rank is 29 out of 105. I'm not sure how competitive my high school is, but I know it is somewhat competitive since it is a collegiate high school and most students only take college classes. They also require a 3.0 to get into the high school.

As far as extra curriculars go, I have over 150 community service hours and am an assistant officer of my school's Digital and Media Arts Club - though I've only been in the club starting this year (12th grade). I have also helped out around my community setting up concerts (rock concerts) and even performing in some of them for charity.

I want to major in Film/Cinema Studies or English Literature.

I live with my mother (single parent) and her income is around 150,000. For these schools I will need some financial aid and am wondering how much of it I will get. I would also like to know if these schools are worth the price. If I don't go to these schools I will either go to University of Florida or New College of Florida. Will I be able to get into good graduate schools (i.e. ivy league) if I come from one of those?

Well, it's late and I can't remember if there is any other information I should give, so just ask if you need any more info. and please excuse any typos/errors in grammar.

And one last thing: If I have no chances of getting into these schools, where do you suggest I go? I am a Florida resident but would really like to go to school somewhere up in the northeast.

I know my chances are slim, but I’d appreciate some help.

Most of these schools are out of range, based on your stats and resume, with the possible exception of Hamilton. I also wouldn’t count on much in the way of merit or need based financial aid, either. I would definitely consider attending an in-state school for your most cost-effective education.

Rip out my heart and stomp on it, why don’t you?
